Honey Bear Speech Therapy
I am a mobile and virtual pediatric speech therapy practice serving in homes, daycares, schools, and parks. I specialize in early intervention for children ages 0–5 (with select services available up to age 8) and use a neurodiversity-affirming, relationship-based approach rooted in play.
Using a whole-person, play-based model, I provide child and family centered therapy in familiar environments. By incorporating everyday routines and toys, our sessions become meaningful and effective. I proudly serve families in Cupertino, Sunnyvale, Santa Clara, West San Jose, Los Gatos, Campbell, and nearby areas — reach out to see if I am a good fit for your family!
I created Honey Bear Speech Therapy to offer high-quality care that feels personal, thoughtful, and heart-led.
As the founder, I’ve built this boutique practice with the belief that every child deserves to be treated like family. From the very first message to every session we share, you’re connecting directly with me—no receptionist, no middleman. I’m here to build real relationships that support your child’s communication and your family’s unique needs.
Because I work with a small number of families at a time, my schedule can fill up quickly. If I’m fully booked, I’d be happy to add you to my waitlist and reach out as soon as a spot opens!
I specialize in helping with:
Late talkers and language delays (receptive and expressive)
Articulation Disorders
Early communication development
Social/pragmatic communication challenges
Autism Spectrum Disorder
Parent coaching, often offered virtually
Some children I work with use AAC (Augmentative and Alternative Communication) to support their expressive communication — especially when speech isn’t yet their primary way of connecting.
Let’s Make Sure We’re A Good Fit
Whether your child is hard to understand, isn’t talking much yet, or needs help connecting with others—I’m here to support you both.
I also support a small number of children with:
Stuttering or fluency challenges
Motor speech disorders, like apraxia

What are families saying about working with Melissa?
"My twins LOVED Melissa! Before we started our sessions with her, they had zero interest in talking and we had no success on our own. Every time Melissa came to our house the kids would be so excited to see her and she was able to grab their interest through games and toys which made a huge difference! Melissa was very flexible when we needed to rearrange sessions on our end, and she was always on time and very dependable! I whole heartedly believe if it were not for Melissa our twins would still be struggling with their very basics of speech. We are so happy that we found her and would 100% recommend her!" - Jennifer C. (Parent)
"Thank heaven I found Melissa. She was the biggest blessing of my life as a mom thus far. My daughter was 18 months old and was not even saying Mama. Melissa was so gentle with my fragile emotional state and taught my daughter and I both SO much! We were with her for about a year. It’s an absolute miracle we found Melissa because I needed her as badly as my daughter needed her. She is so knowledgeable and kind. I just can’t say enough good things about my experience, and now my daughter is three years old and I am trying to figure out ways to find quiet alone time because she talks A LOT hahah! Thank you so much Melissa for helping my daughter find her voice and for helping me find my confidence again." - Angelique H. (Parent)
"Melissa is awesome and anyone who has her as an SLP is lucky! She was the first speech therapist for my daughter and we were fortunate to have her for 15 months. Although our sessions were virtual due to covid, she connected greatly nonetheless with my child. I appreciated her flexibility during days we couldn’t meet, as we were able to do a phone call for updates and questions. She is easy to talk to, provides so many tips, and is in general a sweetheart! I am forever grateful for her, as she helped my daughter find her voice. We miss you, Ms. Melissa!" - Breanne T. (Parent)
"Melissa has worked with my kids for the past couple years. She has an incredible gift of relating with children and making them comfortable with her. She is a pro at identifying and correcting any speech issues they have. My kids looked forward to their speech sessions because they had so much fun with her. Melissa incorporates games and activities while she has the child isolate the sound they need to work on. She is incredible at hearing the exact area of concern and figuring out how the child can position their mouth to correct it. She would explain her strategy to me, so that I was always kept up to date on the progress of each of my kids. It was great to see their progression from week to week. I truly believe Melissa is one of the best speech therapists in the business." - Jennifer H. (Parent)
